Jeannette Rivera - The Hot Kumquat
The Inspiration: Aromatic seasonal citrus and bright summery salads were the muse for this flavorful delight.
The Goods: Bulldog gin, kumquat jalapeno syrup, and a kumquat tincture soaked in 100proof vodka & jalapenos.
The Presentation: Served up with a beautiful candied kumquat wearing a jalapeno ring.
The verdict: Light & refreshingly zesty with a hot kick. The garnish tastes incredible too!
Bobby Hicks - Brass & Bronze
The Inspiration: Armed with a love of herbaceous anise flavors, the aim was to craft a crisp & simple spring drink that is complex, but unpretentious.
The Goods: Plymouth gin, fennel-steeped syrup, celery bitters, Angostura bitters & lemon juice.
The Presentation: Served up with a twist & fennel frond. A beautiful color palette with the peach colored cocktail.
The verdict: Mission accomplished. This is a perfectly balanced fennel forward sunny cocktail, with a light lemon tang and celery finish.
